Echocardiography

Echocardiography is the gold standard for diagnosis and assessing the severity of heart disease. Pet Echos utilizes the Mindray Vetus E7, a premium veterinary ultrasound system with cutting-edge technology to provide clear and precise echocardiographic images. Using 2-D, Color Doppler and Spectral Doppler, we can perform services ranging from routine pre-anesthetic risk assessments to in-depth investigation of cardiac conditions (acquired and congenital).

Indications for Echocardiography:

• New heart murmur
• Syncope
• Cardiomegaly
• Arrythmia
• Pericardial effusion
• Pre-anesthetic screening

Blood Pressure

Systemic Hypertension can have negative impacts on cardiac function such as left concentric ventricular hypertrophy and increased mitral valve regurgitation. Pet Echos utilizes the petMAP graphic to obtain systolic, diastolic, and mean arterial blood pressure values. A complimentary blood pressure recording is included with each Echocardiogram. Serial blood pressure monitoring is available as an additional service.
