Getting to the Heart of the matter: About Us

Dr. Mario Arellano is a graduate of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. After obtaining his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 2010, he also mastered a rigorous and demanding certification process in order to become a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP), becoming a Specialist in Canine and Feline Practice. Instead of traditional specialties such as Dermatology, Surgery, or Neurology that focus on one discipline, his specialty focuses on superior comprehensive care of the patient. He is also a Certified Veterinary Business Leader (CVBL), having obtained his credentials thru the North American Veterinary Community (NAVC).

Dr. Arellano has been practicing compassionate, high-quality veterinary medicine in the South Florida area for 13 years. During this time, he realized that there were very few options locally when it came to the referral of his patients with heart disease to cardiologists, with many clients/patients having to wait several months to be seen by one. Already experienced with sonography (abdominal ultrasound), he began training for Echocardiography, learning Sonopath's Sonographic Diagnostic Efficiency Protocol (SDEP). In 2021, he founded PET ECHOS with the aim of bridging the gap between the general practitioner and the cardiologist by offering mobile veterinary echocardiography service to general practitioners and facilitating collaboration with cardiologists thru telemedicine. He is very proud of raising awareness for pet heart disease and is passionate about working collaboratively with other veterinary specialists to help furry patients live longer, happier lives.
